The Emsella Chair – Does it really work?

A new addition to our clinic in Marlow, Buckinghamshire is The Emsella Chair, a ground-breaking pelvic floor strengthening treatment for mothers with stress incontinence following childbirth, or men or women with decreased sexual satisfaction.

We have researched some of the key facts about the product, what you can expect from the treatment and if it really works?

“Emsella is the only procedure that targets deep pelvic floor stimulation because of HIFEM®* technology.”

“The chair delivers the equivalent of 11,000 kegel exercises in a single session.”

“Studies have shown Emsella to improve stress urinary incontinence (SUI) by 95%.”

“Pad use reduction up to 75%.”

“There are no side effects, walk in and walk out the same day, and is pain-free.”

“You can sit on Emsella and relax during the treatment, and remain fully clothed.”

“Delivers the surprising ability to increase men and women’s sexual satisfaction.”

HOW DOES THE EMSELLA CHAIR TREATMENT COMPARE TO OTHER PELVIC FLOOR STRENGTHENING TREATMENTS?

The Emsella chair is the only procedure that targets pelvic floor muscles and causes deep pelvic floor stimulation because of HIFEM®* technology. All other procedures such as intravaginal Electrostimulation have a risk of burns and lacks the effect as the electrical current treats tissue only superficially, not even mentioning the need to insert the disposable vaginal probe.

Comparing to Kegels, patients are not able to properly contract pelvic floor muscles, build the routine to do Kegels at least 3x per day and do them in hundreds of repetitions to see the same results. It takes time to master doing Kegels correctly, however, they are still a valuable exercise to build into your daily life.

What the Emsella Chair treatment does is by stimulating the pelvic floor muscle, your brain in being trained into finding the right muscle to contract, as it is very hard for some people to accurately contract their pelvic floor.  Later on in the Emsella course when after a few sessions, the muscle is becoming more effective, the sensations being felt during the treatment increase which is proof the muscle is getting stronger.

IS IT SAFE?

The Emsella chair is FDA cleared, medical CE-marked, and represents the first innovative technology that has shown in multiple studies to be incredibly effective at strengthening pelvic floor muscle thus treating issues such as incontinence and intimate dysfunction. During your free consultation at the clinic in Marlow, your nurse will run thourgh how Emsella works and any safety aspects.  There are no side effects.

IS IT PAINFUL?

That is the best thing about the Emsella chair. Patients say it is completely painless, the procedure feels like an intense pelvic floor workout. A slight “tingling” during treatment that is not painful.

You can sit on Emsella and relax during the treatment, and remain fully clothed. During your consultation, we would be happy for you to test out the experience of sitting in the chair in total comfort, so please ask if you have any concerns about what it feels like.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME FOLLOWING TREATMENT?

There is absolutely no downtime with Emsella treatment. You can get back to any daily activity immediately following the procedure.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

You will experience immediate results after the first treatment and will continue to improve over coming weeks with follow on treatments.  We recommend a course of 6 treatments at 30 minutes to bring about significant strength to the pelvic floor.

How long the effects of your treatment last depend on the severity of your symptoms at the start. Most people will notice a positive effect on symptoms for up to one year, however, to maintain strength we recommend to follow an aftercare routine which includes doing Kegels, or regular Pilates exercises, and to top up your Emsella treatment with one session every 6 months.

AM I RIGHT FOR TREATMENT?

The Emsella incontinence chair is a great option for women or men of any age, over 18, who wishes to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles to build stability in the core, a solution for urinary incontinence, or sexual pleasure enhancement. Whether recovering after childbirth or multiple delivery, or a lifelong problem with weak pelvic floor muscles, incontinence can hit at any age and circumstance. A dramatic and welcome improvement in the quality of your intimate life, and improvements in sexual pleasure through stronger feelings and sensations.  If you suffer from any of the following, Emsella can help:

  • Weak pelvic floor muscles effecting core stability

  • Stress incontinence caused by menopause or childbirth.

  • Embarrassing urine leakage when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or exercising.

  • Inability to control bladder when feeling a sudden, intense urge to pee.

  • Intimate health conditions such as vaginal laxity and difficulty reaching orgasm.

If you are currently pregnant, have a pacemaker, metal plates such as hip replacements, defibrillator or if you have a copper coil or IUD, you will not be suitable for treatment at this time.

IS THIS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

If you are a man or woman suffering from bladder weakness, a simple non-invasive cure to this everyday problem could sound like a gimmick.  For years, surgery has been the only option for weak pelvic floors after troublesome or multiple childbirths. Fortunately, it is real and now readily available across the UK in specialised practitioner led clinics. The results speak for themselves, see some of these case studies in the news:

EMSELLA AT THE SPRINGWELL CLINIC, MARLOW – A CLIENT STORY

Rajinder is a mum of three, who came to the clinic with stress urinary incontinence which was effecting her everyday life with leakages a daily occurance.  Watch Rajinder’s Emsella client story here:

EMSELLA – BEFORE & AFTER TREATMENT

Ultrasound imaging of patients’ pelvic floors before and after treatment show scientific results. The problem begins with pelvic floor muscles insufficiently supporting pelvic organs and affecting bladder control.  The Emsella Chair effectively stimulates pelvic floor muscles with thousands of supramaximal contractions per session stimulating the muscle to regain control of the pelvic floor, lifting the bladder back in place.

Results with Emsella have been nothing short of extraordinary. Physicians around the country are amazed and impressed with just how effective this non-invasive treatment is for women with weak pelvic floors, SUI and mixed forms of urinary incontinence. Many patients are calling Emsella a life-changing rehabilitation therapy, with extremely rewarding results. Not only are women loving the results – they enjoy the treatment sessions, as well. The relief Emsella could bring you might help you regain what bladder leakage has taken.
