Profhilo vs. Dermal Fillers
WHAT IS PROFHILO® AND HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM DERMAL FILLERS?
Profhilo® is swiftly becoming one of the most sought after injectable treatments across the country, so what is it, what does it do, and what are the differences between Profhilo® and dermal fillers?
WHAT IS PROFHILO®?
Profhilo® is a new injectable moisturiser treatment available on the beauty aesthetics market. Less extreme in its results as dermal fillers, Profhilo® works from the inside out, rejuvenating the scaffolding of the skin cells to replenish and revive dull lax-lutre complexion.
Profhilo® promotes radiance and hydration as well as correcting crepey, wrinkled skin that’s becoming saggy and lax. Poor skin quality comes with age, and if your skin quality and your creams just aren’t cutting it, Profhilo® may well be the next step in your skincare journey. HOW DOES PROFHILO® WORK?
Profhilo® treatment uses an incredibly pure form of synthetic hyaluronic acid which is injected strategically into the upper layers of the skin with a very small needle. The hyaluronic acid is very runny allowing it to effortlessly disperse into the skin where it hydrates and begins its bio-remodelling process to improve skin laxity.
HOW DOES PROFHILO® COMPARE TO DERMAL FILLERS?
Dermal fillers in its most simple terms is supplying the skin with hyaluronic acid working to smooth the deep lines and wrinkles in the face. An injectable treatment with a small needle applies volume to the places it may have been lost as it ages. If you are looking for volume in specific areas, dermal fillers will be the treatment for you, or, as we discuss in this blog, both treatments together offer incredible benefits to the health and complexity of the face with prolonged results.
Both dermal fillers and Profhilo® are made up of injectable Hyaluronic Acid, and although producing beautiful results, they work differently. Profhilo® is a skin rejuvenator and does not change the structure of the face. It is formulated to enable a flow over an extended area that boosts hydration, and smooths and remodels the skin structure.
Dermal fillers are restorative in their formulation, and remain in the area they are placed to restore loss of volume, enhance the facial structure in required areas, and plump up deep lines and wrinkles.
Considering the differences, the two treatments are complementary to each other, working exceptionally well to bring about dramatic, long-lasting, but natural looking results, particularly where there is a lack of tone and hydration in the skin.
Here we outline the benefits when addressing anti-aging, to understand the key comparisons between Profhilo® v Dermal Fillers:

PROFHILO® OR DERMAL FILLERS, WHICH OPTION IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
If you’ve heard of dermal fillers and Profhilo®, two of the most sought after injectable treatments, you may still be confused as to which treatment is best for you? Whilst both of these injectable treatments can greatly help to improve the appearance of the face, it is important to point out that depending on your desired results, one will be more suited to you than the other.
You may benefit from one treatment more than the other, if for instance you are looking to boost volume in specific areas of the face, and alter the appearance of specific facial features creating an enhanced or defined look, dermal fillers may be the best option. Alternatively, if your goal is to address dull, thinning skin with a boost to the quality, glow and laxity, Profhilo® may be the best option for you. Or a combination of the two for all the benefits!
Both dermal fillers and Profhilo® are far more preferable treatments to alternative surgical options such as facelifts. There is no downtime, and far lower risk. By choosing the right practitioner and cosmetic treatment selection, remarkable results can be achieved without the need for surgery.
Your nurse practitioner will talk through your desired outcomes in your consultation, discussing your medical history, and create a bespoke treatment with the best possible outcome. We will encourage you to fully understand all the pro’s and con’s, risks and side effects, and ensure you are not being pushed into a treatment, it is ultimately your decision to make, so be fully informed.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PRACTITIONER
You must thoroughly research to find the practitioner that is well trusted, reviewed and with the high reputation required to be let loose on your face! Your practitioner should be appropriately qualified to perform the treatment, and always offer you a no obligation consultation. You should be asked about your medical history, feel open to any questions you may have, however small and seemingly insignificant such as “Does it hurt?” or “Will I bruise?”, all are relevant questions and you will not feel comfortable in your treatment if you have concerns. They should outline pro’s and con’s, discuss other treatments they may recommend as alternatives, risks and side effects, cost, and what you should expect from the treatment in terms of downtime, recovery, results, aftercare and how to best maintain the results.
Word of mouth and recommendations are often the most reliable guide to choosing the right practitioner. Who better than someone you trust and results you can see! You should visit the clinic and be aware of the level of cleanliness and professionalism you receive as to a gauge of how you will feel when undergoing the treatment.
Both Dermal Fillers and Profhilo® are excellent treatment options. You should consult with a practitioner who will help you decide which is most suitable for you. Click here to book a consultation.
