Countdown to Summer Ready Skin

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of preparing for a holiday. Whether you’re jetting off to a tropical beach, exploring a vibrant city, or simply enjoying a countryside retreat, one thing’s for sure we all want to look and feel our best!

That glowing holiday skin doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a combination of great skincare, and some simple but essential self-care habits, but also we want to naturally highlight a selection of our favourite treatments to get you summer ready!

It’s really important to plan ahead and don’t leave it to the last minute as many skin treatments work best when given time to take effect, so start your skin preparation 4–6 weeks before you go away ensuring your skin has time to respond, heal, and glow naturally, rather than reacting or looking overworked.

The countdown begins!

With weeks to go, are you feeling well hydrated and nourished? Glowing skin isn’t just about what you put on it - it’s also about how you nourish your body from the inside out. In the weeks leading up to your holiday, prioritising hydration and a balanced diet can make a noticeable difference to your complexion.

We all know the ‘you are what you eat’ saying, but drinking plenty of water really does help flush out toxins, maintain skin elasticity, and keep your skin looking plump and refreshed - especially important if you’re flying, spending time in the sun, or enjoying a few more cocktails than usual!

At the same time, eating a diet rich in colourful fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and lean proteins provides your skin with essential nutrients like antioxidants, vitamin C, and omega-3s. These help combat inflammation, support collagen production, and promote a natural, lit-from-within glow - so you step off the plane looking just as good as you feel!

Start your summer skincare routine now

Your skincare routine needs to be consistent through the seasons, but especially in the run-up to a holiday, where your skin is exposed to more stressed from changes in weather, travel, routine or nutrition, now is the time to give your skin a makeover!

Cleanse - Keep it gentle

Most importantly, opt for a cleanser that suits your skin type - foaming for oily skin, cream-based for dry skin, and micellar water or oil-based for sensitive skin. You don’t need to spend money on a cleanser to find one that is adequate for what your skin needs. Above all, keep it gentle, and avoid a daily scrub! Your clean canvas allows your skincare to absorb better and keeps your complexion clear.

Exfoliate - But not too much!

Gentle exfoliation helps remove dead skin and keep pores clear, improving skin brightness and allows moisturisers and serums to penetrate more effectively.

Our SW Oil control pads are the perfect at-home treatment for the summer when skin can become congested from sweat and product buildup. Infused with a potent blend of deep cleansing, oil reducing and pore refining ingredients, these pads are designed to help prevent breakouts. Salicylic acid takes centre stage, penetrating deep into pores to combat excess oil and prevent breakouts at the source. Combined with glycolic acid, it exfoliates dead skin cells, refining the skin’s texture and minimising the appearance of pores.

Use once or twice a week in the run up to your holiday.

Morning Protection

Holidays are usually hot and dry environments, and then add air-conditioning to the mix, your skin can be left parched, so it needs adequate protection.

Vitamin C - Our SW20 vitamin C contains a high concentration (20%). Neutralises free radicals (which are what build up naturally in the skin to destroy collagen) to protect from UV damage and environmental stress. Vitamin C is vital for collagen production.

SPF - Shields skin from UVA/UVB damage which is essential for preventing burns AND preventing premature aging. Our SW SPF50 also has a slight tint and won’t leave a chalky white cast. Suitable for all skin tones.

Night-time Hydration

Your skin will be thirsty at night, so a good Hyaluronic acid based serum like our SW Quench is a brilliant hydration boost. Our own SW Super B is a potent rejuvenating night serum containing NMN and NAD+ boosting ingredients to support skin longevity, reverse the signs of ageing, destress ageing skin and improve the appearance by restoring youthfulness and fullness. This night serum also contains Vitamin B complexes and encapsulated emollients, for smoother, more hydrated skin.

Don’t forget your lips!

A healing and hydrating Lip Complex containing ingredients that help nourish and restore healthier, more hydrated lips. The Lip Complex is an ideal complement to Lip Fillers - helping minor wounds to heal, preventing transepidermal water loss and restoring a supple, cushiony lip feel and look, whilst also helping to prevent further lip ageing with anti-oxidant and anti-enzymatic properties.

All the skincare products we mention above are available for purchase directly from the clinic. Visit our Skincare page for pricing.

Pre-holiday Body Treatments

When it comes to achieving glowing, radiant skin all over before your holiday, body treatments can be just as important as facial ones. You can start this at home with exfoliating treatments like full-body scrubs, dry brushing or enzyme peels help slough away dead skin cells, revealing smoother, more even-toned skin that absorbs moisturiser more effectively and tans more evenly.

For deeper hydration and skin rejuvenation, Profhilo Body uses small injections of hyaluronic acid to intensely hydrate and remodel the skin, improving firmness, elasticity, and overall texture on areas like the arms, stomach, thighs, or décolletage. It’s perfect for anyone looking to smooth crepey skin or give dry, neglected areas a real hydration boost before baring more skin in the sun.

For June and July, we are giving away an SW SPF50 with two Profhilo Body treatments!

An in-clinic massage will help drain the lymphatic system, and stimulate cell rejuvenation for an all over body glow - and it feels amazing! Read more on our Swedish and Hot Stone Massage treatments at Springwell Clinic.

Skin Boosters Polynucleotides or Profhilo®

Injectable moisturisers like Ameela, Profhilo or other skin boosters deliver deep hydration and stimulate collagen from within. Unlike dermal fillers, they don’t change your facial shape, just improve skin quality and elasticity - perfect for sunny, bare-faced days.

Perfect for: Hydrated, plump, youthful-looking skin.

Light Skin Peels

Gentle chemical peels can smooth the skin, improve tone and texture, and reduce blemishes—without causing heavy peeling. They remove the top layer of dead skin cells, allowing your skincare products to work more effectively and revealing a fresh complexion.

Perfect for: Smoother, more even skin before applying SPF or makeup.

Last minute holiday tips!

Never Skip the SPF!

Your most important holiday essential is a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Our SW SPF50 is non-greasy and has a slight tint, so no white film. Use it daily even in the UK before you travel, and reapply every two hours while you’re in the sun. UV rays are the number one cause of premature ageing, pigmentation, and sun damage.

Tailor Your Products to your Travels

If you’re flying, opt for travel-sized products so you can take your skincare with you in pump or tube packaging. Pack hydrating masks, a facial mist, and not forgetting your lip complex for long flights or dry hotel rooms.

Hydration: Inside and Out

Your skin reflects what’s going on inside, so hydration isn’t just about creams and serums. Drinking enough water, especially during flights, hot weather, or after a few cocktails is essential!

Aim for 6–8 glasses of water a day and also upping your intake of water-rich foods like cucumber, watermelon, oranges, and leafy greens can help if you’re not great at drinking water. Avoid too much caffeine or alcohol, which can dehydrate the skin - easier said than done on your holidays!

Pack a post-sun soothing gel

One with aloe vera to keep skin cool and reduce inflammation is best. These are also great as a cooling skin mist.

Getting your skin holiday-ready isn’t just about looking good, it's about giving your skin the support it needs to stay healthy, hydrated, and protected during your break. With the help of professional treatments and a simple, consistent skincare routine, you can head off on your trip looking and feeling at your best!

If you’re not sure where to start, book a consultation with one of our practitioners. We’ll assess your skin and create a personalized pre-holiday plan that suits your goals, timeline, and travel plans.
