World Continence Week – Emsella Awareness- Day 4

CONTINUING OUR EDUCATIONAL WEEK ON THE NEW EMSELLA TREATMENT AT THE CLINIC, HERE WE DISCUSS HOW EMSELLA CAN HELP DIFFERENT DEMOGRAPHICS, WOMEN AND MEN WITH URINARY INCONTINENCE, WOMEN SUFFERING FROM STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE FOLLOWING CHILDBIRTH.

HOW DOES EMSELLA CAN HELP PRE-NATAL WOMEN?

Urinary incontinence is a very common problem for women with embarrassing urine leakage when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or exercising, or an inability to control the bladder when feeling a sudden, intense urge to pee.  Emsella treatment has the ability to supplement a regime of pilates, and practicing kegel exercizes to strengthen pelvic floor muscles, by bringing about a stimulation of the muscles not otherwise available from kegels or Pilates alone, resulting in a super strong pelvic floor.

Emsella is also a great prevention treatment for pre natal women who are considering starting a family. Having a strong pelvic floor has incredible benefits to support the core and body organs which, whilst pregnant, is put under a huge amount of strain.  A strong pelvic floor prior to pregnancy is recommended to help withstand the extra weight and pressure of pregnancy, and is also said to help with a faster and easier delivery of the baby.

The stronger pelvic floor area following Emsella treatment also has the added bonus of increasing sexual pleasure and prolonging orgasm.

HOW CAN EMSELLA HELP MEN WITH MALE INCONTINENCE?

Men can also suffer from incontinence, associated with pelvic floor weakness.  There are many factors that can affect male problems with incontinence and bladder leakage, with the primary cause being due to the prostate, but also infections, or stress have had a negative impact on incontinence and possibly intimate health.   An enlarged prostate after a prostatectomy, bladder surgery, or other treatments for prostate cancer are the main contributors to male incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

Male incontinence typically involves a small amount of dribbling during exercise or as a result of chronic coughing.  Being overweight can also pressure on the bladder and lead to stress incontinence. Urge incontinence occurs when there is a need to urinate frequently or there is dribbling when the bladder is full, whereas urinary incontinence is the loss of bladder control and the involuntary leaking of urine.   A course of Emsella Chair treatments will improve continence issues in men, strengthening the pelvic floor, prostate and surrounding muscles.   Emsella also treats erectile dysfunction by increasing penile rigidity and hardness as well as increasing control over time until ejaculation.

HOW CAN EMSELLA HELP WOMEN AFTER CHILDBIRTH?

Pregnancy and childbirth can cause a lot of changes on your body including changes in body shape, hair and skin. Everyone is different but a lot of women do find they may experience incontinence or urinary leakage either during pregnancy or after childbirth.
Urinary leakage during pregnancy is often caused by the weight of the baby pressing on the bladder which can put pressure on the pelvic floor muscles which can result in the symptoms of stress incontinence.

Childbirth can also affect the pelvic floor muscles, especially with vaginal birth as this can put a strain on the pelvic floor and weaken the muscles. This can make it difficult to control your bladder and it is estimates that half of women can experience changes in continence following childbirth which is known as post-natal stress incontinence.

WHAT IS POST-NATAL STRESS INCONTINENCE?

Post-natal stress incontinence is very common with women following pregnancy and childbirth. It occurs by stress being put on the pelvic floor muscles usually during vaginal childbirth. Everyday occurrences such as sneezing, laughing or coughing can cause leakage and even some forms of exercise or heavy lifting.

In most cases, post-natal stress incontinence will rectify itself in the months following childbirth as the pelvic floor muscles tighten up again. Pelvic floor exercise such as kegels are recommended after childbirth but the process of strengthening the pelvic floor again can feel like a long process.Post-natal stress incontinence can be effectively treated and to a degree, prevented pre-natally, with our Emsella treatment.  It is never to late to treat incontinence, the results of which will vary according to the severity of the incontinence, but it is a great relief to many women.

Emsella treatment is a non-surgical, quick and painless treatment that can effectively reduce and treat the symptoms of post-natal stress incontinence.

HOW SOON CAN I START MY EMSELLA TREATMENT AFTER CHILDBIRTH?

We recommend allowing at least 10 weeks before embarking on Emsella treatment following childbirth.  If you have had Emsella pre-natally, your treatment following childbirth will be much more effective and quickly strengthen back to pre-natal levels.  If you have had a caesarean, it may be necessary to leave it longer to recover fully before Emsella treatment.

Emsella treatment is not suitable for patients who are currently pregnant, have a pacemaker, metal plates such as hip replacements, defibrillator or if you have a copper coil or IUD. Please contact us for information about different treatment options in these cases.

A dramatic and welcome improvement in the quality of your intimate life, and improvements in sexual pleasure through stronger feelings and sensations.

Don’t forget we offer interest free credit direct debit plans so you can spread the cost of your treatment over a time period to suit you!
