If you’re tired of shaving and waxing, winter is the best time of year to start laser hair removal. A course takes several months, and starting now means you can be finished, or nearly finished, by the time summer arrives.
Why timing matters
Laser hair removal works best on skin that hasn’t been tanned. After treatment, you need to keep the area out of the sun and protect it with SPF. Both are much easier between November and March, when most of us are covered up and sun exposure is low.
How many sessions will I need?
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only treat hairs in their active growth phase. That’s why most clients need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area. Start in November and a course of six can be complete by May.
How it works
Our medical-grade diode laser targets the pigment in each hair follicle, damaging the follicle so it stops producing new hair. Most clients describe a warm snapping feeling, and the laser’s built-in cooling keeps it comfortable. It’s far more comfortable than waxing, and small areas take just 10 minutes.
Is it right for me?
The diode laser suits a wide range of skin types. Every new client has a consultation and patch test first, so we can check your suitability and set the laser for your skin and hair. Laser hair removal does not work on white hair.
Aftercare
Avoid sun exposure and apply SPF to treated areas. Skip saunas and hot baths for 24 hours. The skin may look slightly red for a few hours.
