What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is an advanced treatment that boosts collagen production to reveal smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin. The process significantly improves skin texture, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and is highly effective for reducing acne scars and stretch marks.
We use Xcellaris Pro, a more efficient device with adjustable depth settings for different face and body areas. Both are medical-grade tools, only available to trained practitioners, that create tiny micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
At Springwell Clinic, we use SkinKoe with Microneedling – a pre-mixed serum by Viscoderm containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to boost hydration and radiance. Microneedling also pairs well with Mesotherapy to deliver peptides deeper into the skin.

COMMON QUESTIONS
FAQ
-
A sterile medical roller covered in tiny micro needles at between 1 – 2.5mm depth is rolled over the skin, making tiny holes that trigger a wound healing response and renew skin cells. Serums high in Hyaluronic Acid can then be applied through Mesotherapy, seeping deep into the skin through the puncture holes.
-
Microneedling can be used for the face, neck and chest to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars and enlarged pores. You cannot be treated if you have taken Roaccutane in the last 6 months, have an infection in the area to be treated, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
-
Treatments are completed within 15 – 45 minutes depending on the area. A local anaesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes before treatment. Up to 3 – 6 treatments are recommended, 4 – 6 weeks apart. Wearing an SPF of 30 – 50 is recommended during your treatment course.
-
The level of pain varies from person to person, depending on individual tolerance, needle depth, and the area being treated. The sensation is often described as a tingling or pricking feeling. Numbing cream is applied beforehand and significantly reduces discomfort.
-
Once the redness subsides, after around 24-hours, the skin looks normal. There are no other significant side effects. We'll recommend appropriate aftercare products including SW Quench and SW Vitamin C Serum to help with the healing process.

Yes! Microneedling can be used on the scalp to improve hair growth and strengthen hair follicles. It creates micro channels for topical medications such as Minoxidil to penetrate deeper into the scalp. You can get impressive results from just one treatment.

Combining microneedling with dermal fillers provides a powerful synergy for skin rejuvenation. Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving texture and surface-level concerns, while dermal fillers restore volume, smooth deeper wrinkles, and provide intense hydration. Together, they deliver natural, long-lasting results.
